Inside the nave of the church you will find numerous chapels filled with beautiful religious and artistic objects. The most notable piece is the 15th century altarpiece by Jaume Huguet, depicting scenes from the life of Christ.
Despite its beauty, Santa Maria del Pi has a tumultuous history, having survived earthquakes, fires and even a bombing during the Spanish Civil War. But it remains one of Barcelona's most popular tourist destinations, attracting visitors from all over the world who come to marvel at its impressive architecture and rich history.
In addition to hosting religious services, the church is a cultural center, hosting concerts and other events throughout the year. It has become an important part of Barcelona's cultural scene.
