Convento do Carmo: A Testament to Lisbon's History
Convento do Carmo is a historical site located in the Chiado neighborhood of Lisbon, originally established as a convent in the 14th century. At the time, it was one of the largest and most prominent convents in the city. Unfortunately, the 1755 earthquake led to its destruction, and it has remained in ruins ever since. The site now serves as a tourist attraction, offering visitors an opportunity to delve into Lisbon's past. The ruins are encompassed by gardens, and visitors can also enjoy panoramic views of the city from this location.
