It was built in the 17th century, as a sea entrance to the city for merchants coming to trade. For many years it was a place for prostitutes and sailors, but today it is a fascinating place for tourists, with its colourful facades and wooden boats moored on both banks.

It is recommended to walk around Nyhavn during the day and at night, as the terraces of the cafes and restaurants make this place an incredible site.
